Product information that suppliers make available via the DST platform can now be integrated into webshops more easily. The BikeDist Shopify app has been officially approved and is available in the Shopify App Store. With this connection, bicycle retailers can use DST product data to build and maintain their online product range.
BikeDist was developed for e-commerce within the bicycle industry and supports webshops based on Shopify and WooCommerce. Within BikeDist, retailers can search through the product data for which they have been authorized by suppliers. They can then select, prepare, and publish products in their own webshop.
From DST to the webshop
The product information comes directly from the DST platform and is managed at the source by brands and suppliers. This includes product names, descriptions, images, technical specifications, colors, sizes, and versions.
Retailers decide for themselves which products to include in their webshop. They can select products individually or process multiple products at once. Different versions, such as frame sizes and colors, can also be merged into a single product with multiple options.
Setting custom prices
Before products are published, retailers can determine their own retail prices. BikeDist supports pricing rules based on percentages, rounding, and default settings per webshop. This allows the same product data to be used for multiple stores or sales channels, each with its own pricing strategy.
Keeping product information up to date
If a supplier adjusts product information in the DST platform, these changes can also be processed in the linked webshop. This ensures that information does not have to be updated on each product page individually.
The export status and history are transparent per product and per webshop. This allows retailers to maintain an overview of which products have been published and which information has been modified.
BikeDist creates a new practical application for product data from the DST platform. Suppliers make their information available via a single central source, while retailers can use this data more easily to build and maintain their online assortment.
